John G. Davies
Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Mr. Davies has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation since June 1988. Under his leadership, the Foundation collaborated to create The Water Institute of the Gulf, as well as The Water Campus, a gathering place for scientists and engineers solving water management issues. The Foundation has more than $600 million in assets and has granted more than $500 million to nonprofits worldwide. The Foundation's projects include reviving downtown Baton Rouge, reforming education, and improving mobility across the Baton Rouge region. The Foundation has also started two affiliated community foundations during John’s tenure. The son of a former U.S. diplomat, John spent his formative years in Lima, Peru.
